GRAY, Maine — With rain expected to fall throughout the state on Friday, flash flood warnings have been issued for many parts of Maine, according to the National Weather Service.

Heavy rain and scattered thunderstorms are expected to fall throughout the state Friday and into Saturday morning. Up to two inches are expected in some spots.

Flash flood watches have been issued for Androscoggin, Somerset, Cumberland, Waldo, York, Kennebec, Knox, Franklin, Oxford and Sagadahoc counties.

The flood watches will be in effect through Friday night.
