GUILFORD – Geraldine Cora (Wyman) Rizzitello, 68, wife of William M. Rizzitillo, passed away June 30, 2013, at home with her family by her side. She was born Nov. 14, 1944, in Dexter, the third of nine children of Lester M. and Mildred V. (Knowles) Wyman.
A 1962 graduate of Dexter High School, she was a legal secretary for more than 30 years, having been employed by several law offices in the area, retiring in 2008 from Austin Law Offices. Geraldine enjoyed being involved in her children’s activities, including Girl Scouts, Sports Boosters, Music Boosters and attending as many of her children’s extra curricula activities as possible. She was also a former member of Guilford Memorial Library Board of Trustees, SAD 4 School Board, and a volunteer with Pine Tree Hospice. Her hobbies included reading and sewing.
Geraldine married William M. Rizzitello, April 20, 1974. She took great pride in her family and their accomplishments. She was especially proud that her family all graduated college. Her four children, who survive her, are Deborah and husband, David Fournier, of Dexter; Rose of Bangor, Angelo and wife, Kristy, of Sangerville, and Anthony and wife, Mariah, of Virginia. She is survived by her grandchildren, Christopher and wife, Kalyn, Daniel, and Anna Lisa Fournier; Sophia and Salvatore Rizzitello, and Arianna Rizzitello; siblings, Judith Garneau, Barbara and husband, Gerald Marshall, Richard and wife, Dianne, Norman and wife, Marsha, Melvin and wife, Cathy, and Roger and wife, Judy; sister-in-law, Jody Lessard Wyman; sister-in-law, Vickie Wyman Easler; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Anthony and Ana Rizzitello; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Karen and Anthony Tramontano; and brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Benjamin and Rose Marie Rizzitello. She also leaves many cousins, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents; older brother, David; younger brother, Mark; and infant son, Scott.
A graveside memorial service will be conducted 10 a.m. Saturday, July 6, at Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Dexter, with the Rev. Chad Poland officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to American Lung Association, 122 State St, Augusta, ME 04338-2109. Arrangements are in the care of Lary Funeral Home.
