SEDGWICK, Maine — A tractor-trailer accident Wednesday resulted in Route 15 being closed to traffic, according to officials.

The road was expected to be closed until midnight Wednesday, the Hancock County Emergency Management Agency indicated. The section of closed road is known as Caterpillar Hill Road, between Sargentville and where it intersects with Route 175 and Old County Road near the Brooksville town line.

EMA staff indicated on the agency’s Facebook page that response crews were cleaning up spilled fuel and were working to make the road safe for traffic.

The Hancock County Sheriff’s Department was investigating the accident Wednesday night. Additional details about how or specifically where along the road it occurred, or whether anyone may have been injured, were unavailable Wednesday night.
