PORTLAND, Maine — Numerous construction projects on the Maine Turnpike will be suspended for the weekend in anticipation of heavy holiday traffic.

Maine Turnpike Authority spokesman Dan Morin said in a statement work will be suspended through the weekend. Updated information on projects is available on www.maineturnpike.com.

Motorists are urged to drive safely and obey all posted speed limits through the weekend, and be on alert for traffic shifts when traveling through construction zones.
