BANGOR – Marie P. Curtis, 75, passed away Tuesday, July 2, 2013, at a Belfast hospital. She was born May 17, 1938, in Searsport, daughter of Clifton and Sadie (Bailey) Ward Sr.
Marie was a very caring mother who loved her family very much.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by daughter, Nettie Beatham; two brothers, George Ward and Clifton Ward Jr.; sister, Elizabeth Connor; and three brothers-in-law, Kenneth Connor, Reginald Greenleaf and Leon Harvey. She is survived by eight children, Grover Curtis Jr. of New York, Darlene Chubbuck of Orono, Sheila Mayhew of Orono, Sharon Pomroy of Searsport, Michael Curtis and wife, Julie, of Marrietta, Ga., Rodney Curtis of Exeter, Darrell Curtis of Bangor, and Roland Curtis of Bangor; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind two brothers, Douglas Ward and wife, Kay, and Kenneth Ward both of Searsport; five sisters, Phyllis Greenleaf of Brooks, Theresa Connor of Searsport, Marilyn Littlefield of Bucksport, Ethel Greenleaf and husband, David, of Montville and Hazel Harvey of Frankfort; two sisters-in-law, Carolyn Ward and Winnie Ward; and many nieces and nephews.
