BREWER – Gladys O. Rutherford died peacefully of natural causes July 6, 2013. She was born June 19, 1916, in Buffalo, N.Y.
She retired from her position as an executive secretary with New York Telephone Co., in 1976.
Survivors include her daughter, Roberta Horn; son-in-law, Kenneth of Hermon; and two granddaughters, Jennifer Pierson of Hertford, N.C., and Kimberly Horn of Kingston N.Y. She was predeceased by her sister, Dorothy Turgeon of Sarasota, Fla.; brother, Philip Oehler Sr. of Long Beach, Calif.; and husband, Fred Rutherford of Buffalo, N.Y.
Cremation will be accomplished by Brookings-Smith. A celebration of Gladys’ life will be held 2 p.m. July 20, at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 540 Essex St., Bangor. Memorial donations may be made to Redeemer Lutheran Church or New Hope Hospice of Eddington.
