ENFIELD, Conn. – Sanford “Sam” L. Theriault, 68, husband of Darleen (Adams) Theriault, passed away Sunday, July 14, 2013, at St. Francis Hospital, Hartford, Conn. Sam was born Sept. 4, 1944, in Fort Fairfield, son of Loretta (Turcotte) Theriault of Clarksburg, W.Va., and the late Gilbert Theriault.
Sam proudly served in the U.S. Army and was a member of the American Legion. He was a dedicated employee of Sweet Life Foods and retired after 32 years where he was a member of Teamsters Local 559. Sam was a snowbird in every sense of the word and enjoyed spending the summer months in Maine and winter months in Florida. He was a motorcycle enthusiast and enjoyed traveling with his friends.
In addition to his wife, Darleen of 40 years, Sam is also survived by two children, Lorie Bidmead and husband, Michael, of Somers, Conn., and Gregg Stewart of Brewer; two granddaughters, Britney and Taylor Bidmead; and sister, Theresa Riddle and husband, Howard, of Clarksburg, W.Va. Sam was predeceased by his brother, Wilfred Theriault.
Relatives and friends are welcome to join the family 4-7 p.m. with a funeral service 7 p.m. Thursday, July 18, at Leete-Stevens Enfield Chapels, 61 South Road, Enfield.
