DEXTER – Dorothy “Dotty” Doyon, 74, died July 18, 2013, at a Bangor hospital. She was born April 19, 1939, in Buchans, Newfoundland, Canada, daughter of Matthew and Edith (King) Glavine.
She was a graduate of Hartland Academy and worked for several years for Dexter Shoe Company as a secretary. She later worked in the guidance counselor’s office at Dexter Regional High School. Dotty was a faithful communicant of St. Anne’s Catholic Church, Dexter, and was very involved with the various church charities. She was an active member of Dexter Sunshine Club. She enjoyed gardening, crafts, reading, board games and hosting all the family gatherings. She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her parents; stepfather, Harold Bishop; and brother, Ronald Glavine. She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Douglas D. Doyon of Dexter; daughter, Amy Webber and husband, Scott, of Dexter; son, Peter Doyon and wife, Kimberly, of Cape Elizabeth; brother, Jack Glavine and wife, Polly, of Naples; sister, Gloria Tarr and husband, Tim, of Blue Hill; sister-in-law, Deanne Glavine of Oregon; three grandchildren, Dana and Olivia Webber, and Ella Doyon; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Sunday, July 21, at Crosby & Neal, 61 Main St., Dexter. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Monday, July 22, at St. Anne’s Catholic Church, Dexter, with burial at Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Dexter.
