MOSCOW, Maine — The Maine Department of Environmental Protection will host a public meeting Monday in which people are invited to share concerns regarding the proposed Bingham Wind Project.
The meeting will take place at the Moscow Elementary School on Route 201 from 6 to 9 p.m. Monday, and several DEP representatives, including project manager Daniel Courtemanch, will be in attendance.
The pending project involves developing a 62-turbine, 191-megawatt wind power generation facility in Bingham, Mayfield Township and Kingsbury Plantation. The project will involve five temporary meteorological towers, up to five permanent meteorological towers, a 34.5-kilovolt electrical collector system, an electrical substation and an Operations and Maintenance building.
In addition, a 17-mile 115-kilovolt transmission line will run from Kingsbury Plantation to a CMP substation in Parkman, with the turbine towers having a maximum height of 521 feet.
