CARMEL – Horace Wheeler, 73, died July 19, 2013, at a Bangor hospital. He was born Feb. 20, 1940, in Newport, son of Frank and Sarah (Hall) Wheeler.
Horace graduated from Mount View High School and served in the U.S. Army in Vietnam. He was a career Staff Sergeant with the National Guard. He retired for a second time as a shop assistant with Whited Ford. Horace was a member of the American Legion Post No. 107, Carmel.
He is survived by daughter, Dulcie and husband, Roscoe Noble, of Carmel; three sisters, Bertha and husband, Wesley Bass, of Winterport, Doris Brown of Waterville and Dora Pendleton of Winterport; grandson, Dillon and wife, Chelsea Noble, of Carmel; and several nieces and nephews.
