BAR HARBOR, Maine — Two people are facing charges after several members of a wedding party allegedly broke into the kitchen of a local hotel to take liquor and wine, according to local police.

The incident occurred at the Harborside Hotel on West Street around 1:30 a.m. Sunday, according to the Bar Harbor Police Department incident log. A member of the hotel’s staff witnessed the incident but was unable to prevent it, the log indicates. It does not indicate how many people were suspected of breaking into the kitchen.

“Security is on scene but he can’t stop them all from taking items,” department personnel wrote in the log.

The log indicated that two people were issued summons notices later that morning in connection with the incident. John Warme, 33, of Westbrook and Pauline Rock, 62, of Orono each were summoned on a charge of criminal trespass.

Police officers with the department who were familiar with the incident were not available for comment Monday afternoon, a local police dispatcher said.
