BANGOR – Karen E. Lavigne, 49, died peacefully July 20, 2013, at her home. She was born July 1, 1964, in Greenville, a daughter of Kenneth and Theresa Goulet Lavigne.
She is survived by sisters, Gladys and husband, Kenneth Swett, of Carmel, Priscilla and husband, Paul Jewett, of Northeast Harbor, Denise Garceau of Bradford, and Cheryl Lavigne and partner, Rodney Hillman, of Cambridge; brothers, Patrick Lavigne and wife, Marsha, of Brunswick, and Michael Lavigne of Dover-Foxcroft; sister-in-law, Janice Lavigne of Greenville; and one uncle, Danny Goulet of Greenville. Karen also leaves behind her sons, Brandon and Austin; a grandson, several cousins, nieces and nephews; special friend, Lenny Lee, with whom Karen enjoyed many great outings; and Carolyn Smart the adoptive mother of Karen’s beloved son, Austin. Her cat, Sparkie, who she saved from abuse, will be cared for by her great-nephew, Kraig. Karen was happiest to be at home in her “castle” on the river. Karen was predeceased by her parents, Kenneth and Theresa Lavigne; brother, Dennis Lavigne; sister, Caryl and husband, Bruce Baird; and brother-in-law, Jeff Gary. The family would like to send heartfelt thanks to the staff and residents at the Waterworks for their care and concern over the years.
