SKOWHEGAN, Maine — Marcus Hampton stroked a triple in the first game, then rapped a double and a single in the championship game to lead Skowhegan to the Cal Ripken Baseball ages 9-10 state title on Thursday afternoon.

Skowhegan edged Lisbon 5-4 in the first game, then posted an 11-2 verdict over Lisbon to claim the title. The squad advances to the regional tournament in Walpole, N.H.

Skowhegan 5, Lisbon 4

In the opener, Cody Welch singled twice to support winning pitcher Braden Bolduc in the Skowhegan win.

Hampton earned a save on the mound for the winners, who got singles from Seth Campbell and Jayce Christopher.

Daytona McIver singled twice for Lisbon.

Skowhegan 11, Lisbon 2

In the finale, Hampton picked up the pitching victory as Skowhegan finished off the tourney.

Connor Farlardeau and Jaycie Christoper posted two singles each to back Hampton, while Braden Alward added a single.

Drew Wilcox hit two singles for Lisbon.

Saco 12, Bayside 4

At Augusta, Saco defeated Bayside of Portland 12-4 to force a decisive championship game in the ages 11-12 all-star tournament.

Bayside and Saco play Friday at 6 p.m. for the right to advance to the regional tournament.

Windham 1, Biddeford 0 (9 inns.)

At Waldoboro, Cameron Joyce and Quinton Hastings combined on a seven-hit shutout with 13 strikeouts to propel Windham to the state championship.

Hastings’ two-out single in the ninth scored Brady Afthim with the game’s only run and propel Windham into the regional tourney in Cranston, R.I.

Drew Mathieu singled twice for the winners.

Alex McAlevey collected three singles for Biddeford.
