WINDHAM, Maine — The snapping of a drainpipe is being blamed for a partial collapse of the roof at the Dollar Tree on Monday, according to officials.

Deputy Chief Dave Nichols of the Windham Fire Department said the establishment suffered little structural damage, but the pipe snap sent water spilling into the aisles of the store.

“The business is going to be out of service for a couple days,” Nichols said.

The deputy chief said nobody was injured, and three employees were in the store at the time of the collapse.

“There was some minor water damage next door at the Staples store as well,” he said.
