WATERBORO, Maine — A York County man is facing a charge after robbing a man at gunpoint on Sunday evening, according to police.

Marcus Lefebvre, 25, of Waterboro allegedly took a backpack from another man, according to Chief Deputy William King of the York County Sheriff’s Office.

The victim was struck several times by Lefebvre before the suspect removed his victim’s backpack, according to King. Another man and a woman accompanied him to the scene, the chief deputy said.

King said Lefebvre and the victim know each other.

After conducting an investigation, sheriff’s deputies went to Lefebvre’s residence shortly before midnight and took him into custody without incident.

He is facing an armed robbery charge and his bail is set at $25,000. King said additional arrests are expected as police investigate the matter further.
