LUBEC – Richard Guy Bridges left this world Aug. 4, 2013. He was born Christmas day, 1955, in Lubec to Guy and Nina (Huckins) Bridges.
Richard graduated from Lubec High School and spent most of his life working on the water. Richard was a talented guitar player. He enjoyed playing music with friends and family, and any one who wanted to jam. He will be remembered for his kind and gentle spirit, his laughter, his big heart, and his huge smile. He will be sadly missed by many.
He was predeceased by his father, Guy F. Bridges. He is survived by his beloved wife, Debora Bridges; mother, Nina Mae Bridges; brother, Michael Bridges and wife, Michelle; sister, Donna Mills; sons, Evan Bridges, Andrew Bridges and Justin North; nephews, Christopher Bridges and Travis Mills; nieces, Courtney Mills, Kayleigh Bridges and Toni Bridges; half brother, David Bridges and partner, Ruth; half sister, Pat Bridges, and many more loving family and friends.
A celebration of Richard’s life will be held 6 p.m. Friday, Aug. 9, at American Legion Post 65, Lubec. Bring a dish to share and your instrument to play if you wish. In lieu of flowers, donations in Richard’s memory may be sent to Lost Fishermen’s Memorial Park, P.O. Box 194, Lubec, ME 04652.
