City of Bangor looking for volunteers to fill empty committee, board seats

BANGOR, Maine — City officials are looking for volunteers to fill vacancies on multiple boards, commissions and advisory committees.

The groups and number of empty seats that need to be filled are:

• Penjajawoc Marsh-Mall Management Commission, 9

• Firearms Discharge Committee, 5

• Board of Appeals, 4

• Board of Assessment Review, 4

• Parks, Recreation and Harbor Advisory Committee, 4

• Tree Board, 4

• Stormwater Citizen Review Panel, 3

• Planning Board, 3

• Board of Ethics, 3

• Commission on Cultural Development, 3

• Historic Preservation Commission, 3

• Water District Trustees, 3

• Urban Renewal Authority. 2

• Housing Authority Commission, 2

• Sophia Kirstein Student Scholarship Fund Trustees, 1

Any Bangor residents interested in one of these posts may call or visit the City Clerk’s office to request an application. Applications also may be found at www.bangormaine.gov/volunteerform. Applications must be submitted by Sept. 6 to City Clerk Lisa Goodwin.
