The Bangor Daily News is gathering two dozen tech, social media, marketing and video experts on the Bangor waterfront for a one-day “What’s Next” tech conference on Friday, Aug. 9.

The seminar will feature representatives from some of the country’s most recognizable digital-savvy companies, including Facebook, Time, Hubspot, Bloomberg News, Outside Television, Dream Local Digital, Chimani, Know Technology, Sephone, Knight Vision International and the Maine Center for Entrepreneurial Development.

“This conference represents many firsts for Bangor,” said BDN Maine events producer Pat Lemieux. “It is the first time an all-day conference of this magnitude with a lineup this impressive is being held. It’s also the first such conference to be hosted on the Bangor waterfront.”

Chris Brogan, author of the “The Impact Equation” and CEO of Human Business Works, will be the “What’s Next” keynote speaker, discussing “Mastering the Digital Channel.”

Former managing editor of Facebook, Dan Fletcher, will also be on the agenda.

In addition to the individual presenters, five panel discussions will be part of the conference.

Tickets for the event are available at BDNMaineWhatsNext.com. They include access to the conference, complimentary breakfast, lunch, and networking happy hour, and a weekend pass to the KahBang music festival being held adjacent to “What’s Next.”
