MILLINOCKET, Maine — A Millinocket man is facing charges after allegedly eluding a traffic stop Friday, according to police.

Tyronne St. Pierre, 46, is accused of eluding an officer, a Class C felony, along with operating with a suspended license and speeding more than 30 mph over the posted speed limit, according to a Millinocket police spokesman.

The spokesman said police attempted to pull St. Pierre over for speeding and suspicion of operating under the influence shortly after 1 p.m. Friday, but St. Pierre took off into East Millinocket.

Officers from both East Millinocket and Millinocket were able to get St. Pierre into custody after a roughly 6-mile chase.

St. Pierre was booked into the Penobscot County Jail.
