BREWER – Donald W. Leighton, born Jan. 23, 1925, passed away peacefully at home, Aug. 5, 2013, with his loving family by his side. He was the son of Gerald and Florence Leighton.
He lived 84 of the last 88 years in Brewer. He loved living between the Fishers and the Coreys. He proudly served in the European Theatre in World War II with the U.S. Army. Don was a man of great integrity, who dearly loved his daughters and family. He enjoyed eating out, watching the Red Sox, playing bingo and watching animal shows on t.v.
He was predeceased by his wife of 60 years, Eunice. He leaves two daughters, Ann Runnells and Sharon Allen; grandchildren, Sharon Harvey, Donald Butler, William Bond, Steven Bond and Angel Allen; great-grandchildren, Brad, Lexi, Joey, Steven, Elizabeth, Samantha, and Justin; and two special buddies, Micah and Kegan. Special thanks to the staff at EMMC and Bangor Area Nursing. Family and friends are invited to a graveside service 10 a.m. Friday, August 9, at Woodlawn Cemetery, Brewer.
