GLENBURN – Frances M. Sanborn, 82, died Aug. 5, 2013, at her home after a long battle with cancer. She was born Nov. 30, 1930, in Kenduskeag, daughter of Herbert and Barbara (Reed) Townsend.
She was a graduate of Brewer High School, 1949, that same year she married her husband, George D. Sanborn. She was past president of The Good Times Club of Glenburn. Also past madam state president at the Brewer Eagles Club.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, George D. Sanborn; and two grandchildren, Nova Lee and Heath Sanborn. She is survived by her sister, Marilyn and her husband, Raymond Storman of North Carolina. Also surviving is her seven children, Herbert W. Sanborn and his wife, Carmen of Carmel, Daniel L. Sanborn and his wife, Louise, of Greenbush, George L. Sanborn of Kenduskeag, Steven R. Sanborn of Glenburn, Beth McCullough of Bangor, Scott Sanborn of Old Town and Barbara and her husband, Albert Violette, of Tennessee. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and many nieces and nephews.
