BOWDOINHAM, Maine — A 56-year-old woman was in critical condition at Central Maine Medical Center on Wednesday morning after being ejected from her car during a crash on Interstate 295 Tuesday night.
Mona Lee Kelley of Steep Falls, a village in Standish, suffered multiple injuries in the single-vehicle crash, which took place at about 6 p.m., according to a release from Stephen McCausland, spokesman for the Maine Department of Public Safety.
Kelley’s car was in the southbound lane of I-295 when it overturned in the median and she was thrown from the vehicle, McCausland said in the release.
Troopers had been searching for Kelley’s car after several drivers reported a car was being operated erratically after striking a guardrail in Gardiner without stopping.
No additional information was immediately available on Wednesday.
