FORT KENT – Andre Cyr, 57, died unexpectedly Aug. 6, 2013, at his residence in Fort Kent. He was born June 9, 1956, in Fort Kent the son of Rosaire and Annette (Pelletier) of Fort Kent.
Following two years of college, Andre worked as a scaler then as a Forman for Levesque Lumber, later working with his father at Cyr Auto Body and then becoming the owner for several years. He then opened Andre’s Ski and Sport Store, then worked for Gene’s Electronics all in Fort Kent. Andre enjoyed skiing, water skiing, fishing and hunting.
In addition to his parents he is survived by his two children, Nicole (Cyr) Merrow and her husband, Aric, of Orrington and Nathan Cyr of Portland; three grandchildren, Brooke, Allie and Christopher Merrow; and nine brothers and sisters, Paul, Raymond, Louise, Rita, Theresa, Louis, Daniel, Claire and Mark. He is also survived by brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and cousins. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Tuesday, August 13, at St. Louis Catholic Church, Fort Kent. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may donate in Andre’s memory to Paws Animal Welfare Society Inc. PO Box 94 Fort Kent Mills, ME. 04774. Envelopes will be available at the Church.. Services are being conducted by Daigle Funeral Home, Fort Kent.
