The Cross Insurance Center box office staff announced Friday that it has sold the 1,000th season ticket for the Broadway’s Best in Bangor Series. Tickets went on sale two weeks ago.
“This just shows how excited the Bangor area is to have a Broadway Series take place in their backyard, and we’re very pleased to bring them this opportunity in our brand new venue,” Global Spectrum’s Mike Dyer, general manager of the Cross Insurance Center, said Friday in a press release.
The 1,000th series subscriber is James Morrill of Bangor, who will receive a prize pack of Broadway “swag” to mark his status, according to the press release.
Shows included in the Broadway series include the audio-visual spectacle Blue Man Group, set for Thursday, Oct. 10; the perennial holiday favorite Mannheim Steamroller Christmas by Chip Davis, set for Thursday, Dec. 5; the family-friendly “Disney’s Beauty and the Beast,” set for Monday, March 3, 2014; and the feel-good hit based on the hit songs of ABBA, “Mamma Mia!” wrapping it up on Wednesday, May 28, 2014. All performances are scheduled to start at 7:30 p.m.
Other events slated for the Cross Insurance Center include the Harlem Globetrotters on Sept. 20 and 21, and comedian-puppeteer Jeff Dunham on Nov. 22. More performances are set to be announced in the coming weeks. For information, visit crossinsurancecenter.com.
