OLD TOWN – Dick passed away peacefully Aug. 8, 2013, with his loving family by his side. Dick was born Oct. 8, 1942, the youngest of five children to Edward C. and Estelle L. (Willette) Day. Dick was a hard worker and selflessly provided for his family in any way possible. He loved spending time at his summer residence at Beech Hill Pond with his family. Dick loved boating and spent many mornings cruising at sunrise, while listening to “Oldie Goldies”. He worked for many years at H.E. Sargent and James River Corporation, retiring in 2006.
He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Jean (Clukey) Day; two sons and their families, Randy and wife, Melissa, of Brewer; Corey and wife, Jennifer, of Milford; one brother, Kenneth; and niece, Debbie and husband, Steve, of Wisconsin; and five loving grandchildren, Kayla, Ryan, Wyatt, Kelsi and Kassi Day. He was predeceased by his parents; brothers, Edward and Robert; and sister, Helen. Dick will be especially missed by his brothers-in-law, Jim LaBree and Rick Clukey; and special friend, Mike Porter. In addition, brothers of Old Town Elks Lodge No. 1287, of which he was a longtime member.
Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Monday, at Birmingham Funeral Home, 438 Main St., Old Town, where a funeral service will be conducted 10 a.m. Tuesday. Private interment will be at a later date at Mount Hope Cemetery, Bangor.
