Fans of Luna Bar & Grill on Park Street in Bangor were likely saddened to see the longtime restaurant close indefinitely over the summer. John Gosselin, a Bangor resident and regular patron of the eatery and bar when it was open, has recently signed the paperwork to buy the business and reopen it.

On Friday, the bar reopened with martinis and other specialty cocktails. On Aug. 16, Luna will open the kitchen and start serving the same menu of bistro fare, as well as new bar snacks and finger foods.

Chef Todd Chasteen — winner of this year’s Maine Chef Challenge at Eastern Maine Community College — will take the reins as executive chef, while Justin DuBois returns as bar manager and Mariah Crane as events manager.

Luna will be open from 5-10 p.m. Tues-Thurs and 5-11 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays. For information, check out Luna Bar & Grill on Facebook.
