BANGOR, Maine — An 11-year-old boy suffered broken bones and other injuries that aren’t believe to be life-threatening Saturday afternoon after his bike veered in front of a car on outer Ohio Street in Bangor, according to police.
The boy was riding bikes with his mother outbound on Ohio Street shortly after 1:30 p.m., when his bike pulled into the path of a 2008 Subaru, also outbound, driven by Scott Guerin, 27, of Bangor, police Lt. Tom Reagan said Sunday evening.
Reagan declined to release the name of the minor riding the bike.
The child was not wearing a helmet, according to Reagan, who was reading from the police report in the crash. Reagan said the report didn’t indicate what caused the bike to pull out in front of the Subaru. The speed limit on that section of road, near Bean Estates, is 35 mph.
Reagan said no charges are expected.
“It looks like it was bicyclist error,” he said.
