BANGOR, Maine — An Orono woman was arrested Saturday evening on suspicion of drug possession and operating under the influence, police said.

Erin Haggerty, 23, was pulled over for expired registration tags shortly after 10 p.m. Saturday at the intersection of Second and Union streets, Bangor police Sgt. Paul Edwards said.

When police pulled Haggerty over, they suspected she was intoxicated, Edwards said, and a hydrocodone pill was found in the car.

Haggerty failed several field sobriety tests and was placed under arrest and charged with OUI and unlawful possession of a Schedule W drug, Edwards said.

Haggerty since has been released on bail.
