PENOBSCOT – William L. Bridges, 85, passed away Aug. 12, 2013, at a Bangor hospital with his loving family by his side. William was born Oct. 2, 1927, in Penobscot, son of William L. and Regina H. (Hutchins) Bridges.
He served in World War II and was a member of the American Leagon Post 93. William loved animals and doing crossword puzzles. William had a great sense of humor. He was known to always have well combed hair. His hair was very important to him. William also had a passion for Court T.V always being their number One Juror.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Constance “Connie” Bridges. He was the proud father of a blended family, including, Judy Donegan of Bucksport, Rhonda Ahl and husband, Phil, of Ohio, Robbi Lynn Plumley of Connecticut, Vicki Santor and husband, Dean, of Connecticut, Mark Lawler of Bangor, Bethany Lawler of Pennsylvania, Lisa D’Annolfo and husband, Steven, of Connecticut, Matthew Lawler of Missouri, and Gina D’Costanzo and husband, Dan, of New Jersey; 19 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; one sister, Margaret Cook and husband, Russell, of Bucksport; one brother, Kenneth Bridges and wife, Pat, of Verona Island; and many nieces and nephews. William was predeceased by his parents; one son, Stephen Bridges; one grandson, Stephen Bridges II; and two sisters, Beverly Reynolds and Rebecca Bridges.
Family and friends will gather for visitation 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 15, at Mitchell-Tweedie Funeral Home, 28 Elm St., Bucksport. A graveside service will be held 10 a.m. Friday, at Bayview Cemetery with Pastor Peter Remick officiating. www.mitchelltweedie-young.com.
