PRINCETON – Dennis Franklin Elsemore passed away Aug. 16, 2013. Dennis was born Oct. 12,1937, the only child of Franklin and Pansy Elsemore.
He is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Helen W. Elsemore; and three stepchildren, Robert “Bobby” Cook of Surry, Sharon Cook-Herrell of Anchorage, Alaska, and Dorothy “Sparky” Cook of Ellsworth; nine grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
Dennis graduated from Washington State Teachers College, Machias, with a BA in Teaching in 1959. He majored in Mathematics and Science.
He taught in Dennysville, Princeton and Calais.
He loved sharing his knowledge, and was incredibly enthusiastic about teaching.
Dennis enjoyed driving his 1959 Oldsmobile he had bought as a graduation gift. He loved tinkering around and collecting both antique cars and radios. He had started these hobbies as a young child and never lost his love, nor his enthusiasm, or the thrill of seeking just the perfect part to complete his project.
Dennis was a thoughtful and respectful spouse, father figure, grandfather, friend, and mentor and a very kind and gentle man. He will be missed by all that knew and cared for him.
Dennis had been a contributing member to our society, and the Princeton community throughout his life.
The Memorial Services will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 25, at Princeton Baptist Church, with Pastor Al Mather presiding.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting a donation be made to Maine Cancer Society.
