BRUNSWICK, Maine — The family of a Brunswick woman, injured when a box truck allegedly knocked her off her bicycle, now is offering a reward for information about the accident.
Dianna Smith, 54, was riding against the flow of traffic Aug. 13 on Stanwood Street when she reportedly was clipped by the passing truck and fell from her bike, breaking her leg.
The accident occurred shortly before 11 a.m., near the Brunswick Lawn and Garden store.
Police reports said that Smith described the vehicle as a “white box-type truck,” but offered no further details.
Debbie Smith said her younger sister was released from Mid Coast Hospital on Aug. 16, and that she is recovering well but is in a lot of pain.
“She’s having trouble getting around, she has to use a walker,” the elder Smith said.
Debbie Smith said the family has agreed to chip in money for a $100 reward for information leading to identification of the truck and its driver.
Police have yet to locate any witnesses to the incident. Anyone with information is asked to call Officer Patrick Mahar at 725-5521.
