SMITHFIELD, R.I. – Camille Varin-Tremblay scored a first-half goal and Lauren Swant made three saves as the University of Maine earned a 1-0 women’s soccer victory over Bryant University on Sunday afternoon.

Varin-Tremblay scored the game’s only goal at the10:07 mark when she converted a cross from Joanie L’Abbe by getting a shot past Bulldogs goalie Kaylan Conrad. The Black Bears improved to 2-0.

Conrad had three saves for 0-2 Bryant, which outshot UMaine 10-8.

Maine returns to action Tuesday with a 1 p.m. home game against Central Connecticut State.
