SORRENTO – Nancy W. Tracy, 77, passed Aug. 24, 2013, with her family by her side. She was born Nov. 10, 1935, in Sorrento, to Earl and Marion Welch.
She graduated from Sumner High School, Sullivan, in 1954. She retired from Medtronic, Inc., Mystic, Conn., where she worked for over 20 years. After raising her family and retiring in Connecticut, she returned to her home state of Maine. Nancy enjoyed traveling with her family and friends. She was measured by the insurmountable love she gave her family including several foster children.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by Curtis, her husband of 54 years; her sisters, Beatrice Abbott and Gloria Gunning; brother, Larry Welch; and grandson, Jeffrey Rogers. She is survived by three daughters, Roxanne Tanguay and her husband, Ron Tanguay, Tammy Connor and her husband, Arland Connor, and Kellee Beattie and her husband, John Beattie Jr.; two grandsons, Rob Mercer and Joshua Rogers; three granddaughters, Jessica Bein, Jacqueline Rogers and Taylor Beattie; great-grandchildren, Jeffrey, Sierra, Isabelle, Seth, Dillon, Noah, Arianna, Brett, Aiden, Zoey, Connor, Robert Jr., and Curtis; as well as several nephews, nieces and extended family.
She is also survived by several close brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, family names Abbott, Bierman and Welch; as well as brothers, Earl “Buster” Welch and Edward Welch; and a sister, Joyce Bierman.
The family would like to thank the staff at Maine Coast Memorial Hospital for the exceptional care they extended to Nancy in her final moments.
