NEW SWEDEN – Gordon Hjlmar Zetterman, 81, died Aug. 29, 2013, at his New Sweden residence. He was born in New Sweden, June 23, 1932, the son of the late Clifford and Minnie (Landin) Zetterman.
He married Elfrida Strid, Jan. 9, 1952. Mr. Zetterman was employed as the crew foreman for the town of New Sweden for over 25 years. He also drove truck for Vernon McBreairty for a number of years.
Surviving, in addition to his wife of over 61 years, Elfrida of New Sweden, are his four sons and three daughters-in-law, Daniel and Debbie Zetterman of Waterville, Jerry and Vickie Zetterman, Frederick Zetterman and Linwood and Cathy Zetterman, all of New Sweden; three brothers, Clifford Zetterman of Caribou, Ansel Zetterman of Carmel and Carroll Zetterman and his wife, Viola, of Connor; three sisters, Brenda Morin and significant other, Dave Cochran of Woodland, Madeline Dufour and husband, Roy, of Vermont and Marcella Schoville of Conn., eight grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. Mr. Zetterman was predeceased by a brother, Glen; a sister, Gloria; and a grandson, William.
A graveside service will be held 1 p.m. Friday, Sept. 6, at the New Sweden Cemetery, with the Rev. Robert Smith officiating. Following the service all are invited to a time of continued fellowship and refreshments with the family at Svea Hall, Gustaf Adolf Lutheran Church. www.mocklerfuneralhome.com
