FRENCHVILLE – Therese Nadeau, 82, passed away Sept. 5, 2013, at a Fort Kent health care facility after a brief illness. She was born January 19, 1931, in St. Francois, New Brunswick, the daughter of Levite and Isabelle (Leblanc) Gagnon.
She enjoyed spending time with her husband, children, and grandchildren, leaving many good memories behind. In her younger years, she was an excellent seamstress, working for a clothing store in Edmundston. She received her GED while raising her family. Therese took great pride in managing the finances of the family farm. She had an excellent memory and had a great interest in genealogy. She was a communicant of St. Thomas Aquinas Church, and a past member of the Parish Council.
She is survived by two sons, Bernard D. Nadeau and his wife, Linda, of Frenchville, and Andre P. Nadeau of Portland; three granddaughters, Leslie-Ann Labonte and her husband, Matthew, of Eagle Lake, Vicky L. Nadeau of Waterville, and Melanie L. Nadeau of Portland; three sisters, Beatrice Lynch of Edmundston, Marcelle Dube of Edmundston, and Rachel Morin of Longueuil, Quebec; one daughter-in-law, Rolande Nadeau of Madawaska; and many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her stepmother, Elizianne Dupont; her husband, Eudore Nadeau; her son, Philip C. Nadeau; one sister, Germain Rivard; one brother, Herve Gagnon; and four stepsiblings, Roger Morin, Madeline Michaud, Jim Morin and Jacques Morin.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 7, at St. Thomas Aquinas Church. Family and friends may call 6-8 p.m. Friday, and 9-9:45 a.m. Saturday, at Lajoie Funeral Home.
