MEDWAY – Jean Ann Moore, 73, died unexpectedly at one of her favorite places, the First Congregational Church of East Millinocket Sunday, Sept. 8, 2013. Jean was born in Medway, Aug. 20, 1940, the daughter of Harold and Pauline (Lyons) Beathem.
Jean loved to knit and sew things for her family, and she loved to shop with her daughters and granddaughters. Spending time with her family was one of her favorites. Jean enjoyed traveling, and especially looked forward to the annual Mystery Trip out of Millinocket. She always had a suitcase ready whenever anyone was ready to go. She was involved in every activity at her church, doing the weekly bulletins, and helping in any way she could. She also was a member of the deaconate, serving in many areas.
Jean is survived by her beloved husband of 55 years, Harold; a son, Patrick of Burlington; daughter, Hope Boyd and husband, Glenn, of Medway; daughter, Paula Rouleau and husband, Tony, of Bangor; grandchildren, Sonya Moore, Kevin Moore, Kate Rouleau, Bryan Rouleau, and Emily Boyd; several great-grandchildren; siblings, Linda Dunmore of Medway, Jeri Beathem of East Millinocket, Pete Lyons of East Millinocket, and Prince Lyons of Livermore; and many nieces and nephews. Jean will be especially missed by her friend and traveling companion, Linda Elward. In addition to her parents Jean was predeceased by brothers, Roy, Donnie, Paul and Mac Lyons.
Friends may visit the family 5-8 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 10, at Lamson Funeral Home, 11 Tamarack St., Millinocket. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, at First Congregational Church of East Millinocket, 11 Maple St. Interment will be at Grindstone Road Cemetery, Medway.
