BANGOR, Maine — A local man was charged on Monday with sale of the synthetic drug “spice” at his Center Street pawn shop, police said.
Joshua Gallant, 31, was summoned for sale of synthetic cannabinoids, according to Bangor police Lt. Paul Edwards.
Gallant was not arrested. He faces a fine of $500 if found guilty.
Gallant allegedly was selling synthetic marijuana valued at $23, according to Edwards. Anonymous tips and other information led police to charge Gallant.
Gallant is the first person charged by police under a new city ordinance adopted in May 2013 that banned the sale of spice.
