WILMINGTON, Del., BRANCH LAKE and BANGOR – A loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and sister, Sandra Kathleen (Bryce) Morin, “Sandy”, 73, of Wilmington, Del., and Branch Lake, Ellsworth, passed away Sept. 12, 2013, in the Maine Coast Memorial Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer. In spite of all she endured, her spirits remained high and she was always able to laugh, tell stories and joke with everyone.
Sandy was born in Bangor, daughter of Frank and Irene (Ireland) Bryce. She graduated from John Bapst Catholic High School and attended Husson College in Bangor. She spent many years at their camp on Branch Lake and enjoyed get togethers with family and friends and renovations on the camp. She was a homemaker and dedicated her life to caring for her beloved family. She was very proud of her children and grandchildren and was extremely delighted with their sports, activities and accomplishments in life. She was a very caring person, especially in support of her family and friends when they needed someone. Her wonderful personality made many friends. She was very appreciative of the support and friendships returned to her by her family, friends, the lunch bunch, nurses and doctors that helped her with her recent illness. She was a devoted catholic and member of the Church of Holy Child in Wilmington, Del.
She was predeceased by her parents; and her nephew and godson, Michael Flanagan. She is survived by her loving and caring husband and best friend of 52 years, Carl Morin of Wilmington, Del., and Ellsworth; three children; son, Mark Morin and wife, Linda, of Garnet Valley, Pa.; daughter, Brenda Potts and husband, Neal, of Wilmington, Del.; son, Scott Morin and wife, Sabrina, of Centreville, Va.; and grandchildren, Christopher and Jennifer of Wilmington, Del., Taylor, Victoria and Connor of Centreville, Va., and Jake and Sam of Garnet Valley, Pa. She is survived by her sister, Jean Flanagan of Concord, N.H.; and brothers, Robert Bryce and his wife, Cynthia, of Bangor and Roger Bryce and his wife, Trudy, of Winter Haven, Fla., and Brewer. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. She will be sadly missed by her husband, family and many friends.
Relatives and friends are welcome to call 9:30-10:30 a.m. Monday, Sept. 16, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Monday, at St Paul The Apostle Parish, St. John’s Catholic Church, 207 York St., Bangor. The family invites relatives and friends to share conversation and refreshments at the Family Reception Center of Brookings-Smith, 163 Center St., Bangor, following the funeral Mass Monday. Interment will be at Mount Pleasant Catholic Cemetery, Bangor. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at the Church of the Holy Child, 2500 Naamans Road, Wilmington, Del., at a later date.
