FLORAL CITY, Fla. – Berwin W. Storer, 79, of Floral City, Fla., and Monson died Sept. 7, 2013. He was born May 29, 1934, in Brewer, to the late Walter and Lurene (Lord) Storer.
He served our country proudly in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean conflict. He was a hard worker with a strong work ethic. Berwin was a deputy sheriff with Piscataquis County for many years. He was a self-employed painter and roofer, specializing in slate roofing. Berwin was a charter member of VFW No. 7122 in Floral City, Fla., member of their honor guard and member of American Legion Posts in both Maine and Florida. Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 55 years, Yvette; daughter, Crystal Storer of Zephyrhills, Fla.; sons, Tollef (Linda) Storer of Orrington and Kevin (Molly) Storer of Monson; sister, Carolyn Briggs; brother, Allan Storer; grandchildren, Jacob, Aaron, Amelia, and Emily. He was predeceased by brother, Henry.
A graveside service with military honors was held Thursday, Sept. 12, at Florida National Cemetery. A celebration of life with family and friends will be held in May 2014, at “camp” in Elliotsville. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to your local hospice or Pine Tree Camp in Smithfield.
