GRAY, Maine — With temperatures expected to dip as low as the 20s in some parts of Maine overnight Monday and into Tuesday, the National Weather Service has issued freeze and frost warnings.
The NWS’s Gray office said a freeze warning has been distributed for southern Franklin and Somerset counties, along with Androscoggin, York and Cumberland counties. A frost advisory has been issued for the same areas.
Northern Penobscot and Aroostook counties have been issued freeze warnings, according to the NWS. Northern Somerset, Franklin and Oxford counties have been issued freeze warnings as well.
Temperatures will be at their lowest from midnight to 9 a.m. Tuesday, according to the NWS. Those with crops are asked to keep a close eye on them, as crops and other sensitive vegetation can be killed in low temperatures.
