DARTMOUTH, NS – Dorothy Mae Lewis, 80, of Dartmouth, NS, passed away Sept. 15, 2013 in Northwood Center. Born in Bar Harbor, she was the daughter of the late John and Virginia (Bassett) Coombs.
She raised and loved her three children on her own. In 1979 she started work at Bangor Mental Health Institute as a CNA until her retirement in 1993, then moving to Nova Scotia to be with her family. She was a strong independent beautiful woman who was loved by many and will be missed and in our hearts forever.
She is survived by her daughter, Kim Lewis; sons, Mark, both of Dartmouth and Gil of California; and three grandchildren. She was predeceased by her brother, Clyde.
