SOUTHWEST HARBOR – A. LaVaughn Bell, 95, died Sept. 15, 2013, at Sonogee Rehab. & Living Center. She was born March 14, 1918, in Lincolnville, the daughter of Harry A. and Ethel B. (Hutchinson) Frohock.
Vonnie was a member of St. John Episcopal Church, Southwest Harbor.
She is survived by a daughter, Rebecca Crowther, of Hollis, N.H.; two grandsons, Col. G. Alex Crowther, of Carlisle, Pa., and Herbert E. Gilliland III, of Pittsburgh; two nephews, Stephen Frohock and his wife, Liz, of N. Searsport and Bruce Frohock of Houlton; a niece, Nancy F. Chartier and husband, Bill, of Brooklyn, Conn.; and by many special nieces, nephews, cousins and many special friends. She was predeceased by a son, Ralph I. Bullock II in 1961; a daughter, Patricia B. Gilliland in 1985; and her brother, Douglas H. Bullock in 1998.
A memorial service will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 19, at St. John Episcopal Church, Main Street, Southwest Harbor. Interment will be at Maplewood Cemetery, Duck Trap Center, Lincolnville.
