ANDOVER, Mass. – Annie Ellen Wood, 84, passed away Sept. 17, 2013, at Wingate in Andover, Mass. Annie was born Aug. 27, 1929.
She was predeceased by her parents, Earl and Nina Boyle/McKay; four brothers, Stanley, Martin, Donald, and William; and two sisters, Betty and Mary. She is survived by one sister, Bernice Libby of Port Charlotte, Fla. Annie was married to her best friend, Lester Wood Jr. in 1947. Lester died in 1974. They are survived by three daughters, Pearl El Khoury, Roxane Twombly, and Marie Velasquez. She has four grandchildren, Jason Twombly, Natasha Creaser, Najanne Sneed, and Saleem El Khoury. She also has six great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews that were very special to her.
She was employed for 20 years at Eastern Maine Medical Center, Bangor. Upon retiring, she spent 15 winters in Florida with her mother. Annie was one of Jehovahs Witnesses for the past 60 years. Annie was a wonderful person who showed love to everyone she came in contact with. She took great pride in her flower gardens. She was known for her incredible cooking, especially pies which were Lester’s favorite! And her love of going to yard sales.
A graveside service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 5, at Blackman’s Cemetery, Eddington.
