LITTLE DEER ISLE – Sheldon S. Eaton died peacefully Sept. 19, 2013, at a Bangor hopsital. Sheldon was born Aug. 17, 1927, in Little Deer Isle, the son of Irving and Ruth (Billings) Eaton.
He served in the U.S. Army from 1954 to 1956, and then served in the Merchant Marines for 14 years. Sheldon worked as a seaman for many years and was known for his love of baseball.
He was predeceased by his parents; and his wife, Charlotte B. Eaton. Sheldon is survived by his four sons; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Viewing will be held 11 a.m.-noon Wednesday, Sept. 25, at Bragdon-Kelley Funeral Homes, 9 Thurlow’s Hill, Stonington. A graveside service will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 25, at Howard’s Hill Cemetery, Little Deer Isle. Family would like to thank the staff at Blue Hill Memorial Hospital, Eastern Maine Medical Center and the Life Flight Team for their support and care during this difficult time.
