SCARBOROUGH, Maine — A Portland man was arrested last Wednesday at the Scarborough Wal-Mart and charged with gross sexual assault.
Police said Monday that John R. Malloy, 52, assaulted a 26-year-old Portland woman on a dirt road off Mussey Road on Sept. 18.
Scarborough police Detective Don Blatchford said the two knew each other.
Malloy was arrested just after 10:30 p.m. He has since been released. No information on his bail or court date was immediately available.
The alleged incident remains under investigation, Blatchford said.
