WILTON, Maine — A standoff continues Tuesday night in Wilton between the Maine State Police tactical team and an armed man.

According to Steve McCausland of the Maine State Police, a lone male “had some sort of issue,” and fired a single shot, which brought Wilton police to the Weld Road house.

Shortly after arriving, Wilton police requested backup from the Maine State Police tactical team, who have had the scene secured since.

As of 10:15 p.m., McCausland said officers were still attempting to negotiate with the man.
