LEWISTON, Maine — Portsmouth, N.H. police are seeking a city man in connection with the attempted burglary last weekend of the NH Charitable Foundation.
A felony warrant for burglary was issued for the arrest of James T. Birkbeck, 39, who reportedly was seen fleeing the charity’s office at 446 Market St. in Portsmouth on Saturday when an employee interrupted a burglary in progress, police said in a written release.
Birkbeck was described as 5 feet, 9 inches tall, weighing about 175 pounds. He has blond hair and blue eyes.
Police said they believe Birkbeck is in the Lewiston area.
