HERMON – Marguerite J. Kelley, 77, wife of David L. Kelley, passed away unexpectedly, Sept. 26, 2013, at a Bangor hospital, surrounded by her family. She was born Dec. 8, 1935, in Dover-Foxcroft, the daughter of W. Eugene and Doris O. (Dulac) Demmons.
Marguerite was a dedicated mother, wife, and homemaker and enjoyed playing the guitar and singing. She loved to go camping and fishing at Wilson Pond in Greenville where she would sit near the campfire playing music. She once had the opportunity to travel to Nashville and was able to play on stage with a band. Marguerite was a strong woman who was a two-time cancer survivor earlier in life.
She is survived by and will be sadly missed by her husband of 60 years, David Kelley of Hermon; five children, Gail Moor of Bangor, Cindy Conners and her husband, Kevin, of Milford, Randell Kelley of Brewer, Ronald Kelley and his wife, Leslee, of Scarborough, and Gary Kelley of Hermon; nine grandchildren, Christopher, Jason, Chasen, Jesse, Craig, Garrett, Lindsey, Jenny, and Allyson; two brothers, Walter Demmons of Hermon and Louis Demmons and his wife, Lucille, of Carmel; three sisters, Mary Mulldune and her companion, Mike Tammany, of Carmel, Betty Hurlbert and her husband, Roger, of Florida and Barbie Potter and her husband, Ed, of Bangor; several nieces, nephews, in-laws; and several close friends. She was predeceased by her parents; one sister, Marie Robinson; and two brothers, Donald and Dennis Demmons. She loved her little dog, Molli, who will surely miss her.
Family and friends may visit 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. Monday, Sept. 30, at Kiley & Foley Funeral Service, 299 Union St., Bangor, where a service honoring her life will be held at 1 p.m. as the visitation concludes with the Rev. Jerry Mick, pastor of Bangor Baptist Church, presiding. Burial will be at Pine Grove Cemetery, Bangor.
