ST. DAVID – Edwin E. Cyr, 87, passed away peacefully on Saturday, Sept. 28, 2013, at a Fort Kent health care facility. He was born March 14, 1926, in Frenchville, son of the late Ernest and Mary (Roy) Cyr.
Edwin enjoyed the great outdoors, especially fishing and hunting. He also liked gardening and cooking. He worked at Fraser Papers for 34 years until his retirement.
He is survived by his two daughters, Patricia Dube and her husband, Irvan, of Madawaska, and Linda Blanchette and her husband, Dave, of Frenchville; nine grandchildren, Steven, Lee Ann, Tammy, Eric, Tracy, Sara, Erica, Crystal, and Jamie; 10 great-grandchildren, Matthew, Lance, Sierra, Jacob, Emily, Antonio, Sophie, Cassidy, and twins; two sisters, Anotinette Lizotte of St. Agatha and Jeannette Dube of New Britain; and three brothers, Conrad Cyr and his wife, Lorraine, of Berlin, Conn., Jean Cyr of Madawaska, and Roland Cyr of Caribou. Edwin was predeceased by his wife, Theresa M. (Sirois) Cyr; his son, Jim Cyr; his daughter-in-law, Helen Cyr; his daughter, Ann Gervais; and three brothers, Maurice, Alphy, and Raymond.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday, at the St. David Church. Family and friends may call 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 1, and 8:30-9:30 a.m. Wednesday, at Lajoie Funeral Home.
