BANGOR, Maine — A tree that fell on power lines was responsible for a brief power outage that left 1,400 Bangor Hydro customers in the dark on Wednesday.

The downed tree fell on lines along Burleigh Road, Bangor Hydro spokeswoman Susan Faloon said Thursday morning.

Customers on Griffin Road, Essex Street and Broadway were affected by the incident.

Faloon said it took crews about an hour to fix the lines and restore power. No injuries were reported. The outages were announced just after 5 p.m. and all customers had their power back shortly after 6 p.m.
